OUR HISTORY
Pastaworks was founded in 1983 on Hawthorne Boulevard in Southeast Portland, and over the years has built a reputation as one of the great European-style markets in the United States.
Pastaworks is famous for its housemade fresh pastas (extruded, sheet, and ravioli) using the highest quality Northwest-grown wheat and eggs. Additionally, our in-house kitchen prepares fresh pasta sauces and an array of delicious prepared foods for a market lunch or a readymade supper.
But Pastaworks isn't just focused on pasta. There is also a revered selection of European wines (with a strong focus on Italian), cheese and charcuterie unparalleled in the Northwest, and extraordinary groceries sourced locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.
Pastaworks is heaven-on-earth for those who love to cook and to eat good food, and has been recognized as an outstanding specialty grocer by Portland Monthly, The Oregonian, Willamette Week, and many other national and international publications.
Pastaworks has two locations in Portland: as the anchor tenant (and owner) of Providore Fine Foods in NE Portland, and anchor tenant (and co-owner) of City Market Northwest. The original location on SE Hawthorne closed at the end of 2015, and relocated to Providore in February 2016.
Pastaworks opened Arrosto, their Mediterranean Rotisserie Chicken window, at Providore in April of 2016.
